UCSC Rector named in new Monti Government

Three ministers from UCSC join new government

The Rector of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), Professor Lorenzo Ornaghi was appointed the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities today (16/11/11), as the newly appointed Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti unveiled his team of ministers who will be part of the new technocratic government. 

Professor Lorenzo Ornaghi graduated with a Bachelors degree in Political Science from UCSC, Milan campus in 1972. He has been the Rector of UCSC since 1 November, 2002.

Apart from Professor Lorenzo Ornaghi, two other professors of UCSC were appointed to be ministers in the interim government. These include, Professor of Constitutional Law from the Faculty of Law of Milan, Renato Balduzzi, as Minister for Health, followed by Professor from Public Finance, Dino Piero Giarda who was nominated, Minister without portfolio.
